Dialogue Architect
Portfolio
My passion is architecting, designing, and building speech experiences to humanize technology in delightful and unexpected ways.
Since mid-2000 I’ve worked with speech technology as a dialogue designer, NLU creator, usability tester, coder, product manager, business analyst, talent coach, audio producer, evangelist, and teacher.

I've worked through three phases of speech technology: 2000-2004 when voice portals were all the rage, 2004-2013 during the dark IVR years, and from 2014 to the present where speech is cool and fun again! I care deeply about the process of creating, shipping, and tuning quality products.

Senior Conversation Designer
Google, LLC
I currently design and build speech and multimodal actions for the Google Assistant. I recently designed 'Assignable Reminders,' an action that allows parents to offload all of their domestic tasks to their children. (That was the plan, anyway. Still a work-in-progress at my house.)

Another advanced, user-centric design I recently delivered was just submitted to the U.S. Patent Office. And I wish I could tell you about it.

I'm also lucky enough to manage a team of brilliant, talented Conversation Designers!
